Start with the documented color character
Benjamin Moore Alabaster OC-129 is a pink-tinged white, distinct from Sherwin-Williams Alabaster. Temperature is a useful description, but neighboring materials can change the impression. Alabaster OC-129 has a pink-white identity that should not inherit the warm-white advice written for SW-7008.
Why the pink-beige stone and ivory fabric relationship matters
Pink-beige stone offers a reason to consider that blush, but the authentic Benjamin Moore sample must establish the actual relationship.
Alabaster has an LRV of 85.08; Sherwin-Williams Alabaster SW-7008 is 82. The difference is 3.08 points, with Alabaster returning more light under the reference measurement. Alabaster SW-7008 is a warm white with a restrained rather than stark appearance. This supplies a named color control; the LRV gap alone does not identify the warmer, greener or pinker paint.
Use Alabaster as a control
Put Alabaster directly against the whitest permanent surface and then against the warmest one. If those two boundaries disagree, decide which surface controls the project. The word warm cannot reconcile every ivory cabinet with every white stone, and a cooler label does not automatically imply an unsuitable room.
Separate a persistent cast from a comparison effect
Specify OC-129 on the sample and judge its pink note; do not transfer advice about SW-7008. The undertones and neighboring colors covers that related choice.
Judge the temperature description against the full pink-beige stone and ivory fabric arrangement. A warm or cool label is a useful starting category; it cannot guarantee that Alabaster agrees with every material assigned the same label. The wood-floor pairing guide covers that related choice. Before ordering samples, compare room-planning features in the paint color visualizer roundup.
